We've entered an unprecedented era where communication is not only granular, it's instantaneous. We're now immersed in a world where information flow is immediate and widespread. Those who embrace this Web 2.0 world are often nearly omnipresent on the Internet, and maintaining one's 'online presence' is not only difficult to manage in terms of scope but even harder to control in terms of content. The line between one's personal and professional presence, at least when it comes to the Internet, is not just blurry, but often removed.
And so, having written a personal website for over 8 years and engaging with the new technologies that foster communication on a minute-by-minute basis, I embrace this new age of personal omnipresence while maintaining a separate, though inter-related, professional presence.
